The project

Dr. Beckmann is an internationally visible brand with multilingual country websites in over 80 countries on all continents. In 2016, we took over the further development and technical support of a total of nine websites under the umbrella website www.dr-beckmann.com and current country websites, including the German, Spanish, French, and Arabic versions.

Hreflang Manager for Country Websites

To further increase the SEO performance in the countries, the websites were equipped with so-called hreflang attributes. These ensure that search engines like Google better understand the international website architecture and display the correct language variant to the target audiences in the individual countries. At the same time, this attribute helps to prevent individual pages from being perceived as identical (Duplicate Content) and not ranking lower. This is particularly often the case with different country websites in the same language, such as in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Managing the correct references on complex websites with many country versions can quickly become a challenge for the web editorial team. Therefore, a hreflang manager was implemented for delta pronatura, which allows generating the link attributes and automatically storing them for the country websites. This not only saves delta pronatura from laborious manual maintenance work but also reduces the error rate at the same time.

Brand relaunch of the German website

After a successful brand relaunch, we have now transitioned Dr. Beckmann's website into the new brand world. In a co-creative design process with the client, the new screen design was developed and implemented. Dr. Beckmann now shines digitally with modern, attention-grabbing hero stages and plenty of transitions and animations that significantly enhance the user experience. The rollout of the new brand design to all other country websites is now taking place, so that brand message and online presence can go hand in hand internationally.

Integration of a PIM system

A large part of the information on Dr. Beckmann's website concerns products: packshots, product descriptions, application instructions, and much more. In order to simplify the work of editors and avoid having to enter this information multiple times, we have integrated an existing Product Information Management System (PIM system). Thanks to this integration, product information and relevant assets are now automatically synchronized with the TYPO3 CMS. Any changes made to this data in the PIM system will take effect automatically and appear on the corresponding page of the website.
